From Queer Channel Media:
State Sen. Stanley Rosenberg says he’s gay.The Amherst Democrat wrote a column in the Daily Hampshire Gazette about liberty over the July Fourth weekend describing himself as “a foster child who grew up as a ward of the state, as a gay man, as a Jew.”
He declined further comment when contacted by The Republican of Springfield.
The 59-year-old Rosenberg served in the House from 1987 to 1991, before moving to the Senate. He serves as president pro tempore and is point man on gambling issues for Senate President Therese Murray.
Massachusetts became the first state to legalize gay marriage in 2004. Rosenberg was among those who opposed a proposed 2008 constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
How much do ya wanna bet that means that he’s spent all of his queer ’political capital’ on gay marriage and just can’t be bothered to push for rectification of the political hate crime (some times, though incorrectly, referred to as Massachusetts’ gay rights law) that the state, aided and abetted by Massacusetts’ gays and lesbians, committed against trans people in 1989? Of course, the lil’ ol’ news blurb doesn’t bother serving up any of that info.
To be fair to Queer Channel Media though, not only does it not bother to say anything about whether or not he gives a shit about trans people’s lives now, it does’t bother to go into what his position might have been on trans-inclusion with respect to the aforementioned 1989 political hate crime (or, for that matter, what his position was on the gay-only bill itself.)

Thanks. That is good to know (though I would be curious as to know what is mindset was in 1989.)
Yes – I could have done the resarch myself prior to the post, but I was targeting Queer Channel Media as much as anything.
