While The Mice Are Away…

…being deluded into thinking that they actually matter:

The Civil Rights Vampires of Gayetteville on the Potomac are moving forward with the only agenda that actually matters to them:

But why worry about that giant civil rights suckin’ sound when there’s some empowerin’ to do?

Get Back to Work

Transgender Americans are highly employable job candidates. But they need superior, specialized job-hunting skills to help overcome hiring biases.

HRC’s Back to Work project empowers transgender Americans who are unemployed or underemployed to find jobs that match their unique expertise and experience, providing them with essential skills to make the most of the job market and get back to work.

Transgender Americans are highly employable job candidates. But they need superior, specialized job-hunting skills to help overcome hiring biases.

And we’re to presume that HRC and other gay rights organizations – and their apologists – are free of such bias?

Well…

we’re not to presume it.

But the people who are most likely to believe such bullshit are – and, of course, they will.

Appletini!

I wonder if the HRC’s Back to Work project will be focused on resumees and interview skills for that prize opening at McStarbuMart, or looking at serious ways to overcome obstacles so that we can use lifelong skills that we already have, from trades we’ve already had careers in?

And when coupled with the HRC’s position on ENDA, is the overall message just “settle for less?”

I’ve never attended an HRC function, so I could be wrong, but their track record doesn’t leave one very optimistic.

The overall message is that they’ve been receiving criticism on their stifling of trans employment protections in states that have gay ones in favor of marriage. This requires a PR gesture somewhere where marriage is settled, trans people are still left out and it won’t cost them anything. Perhaps – $5,000 tops – a pittance to change the story. Nothing the like the millions they’ve committed to marriage.

It helps if you have a partner willing to eat the table scraps the dog turned down. If I’d done all the hard work in MA – I certainly wouldn’t want Joe “Rosie Ruiz” Solmonese running over the finish line saying he’s in first place.

It might help your state a tiniest bit – but what does it do to trans people in others?

Hey! Don’t go dissin’ Rosie, now!

She at least was somewhat productive.

        I mean…

She provided at least a year’s worth of monologue material for Johnny Carson.

        But Pee Wee Solmonese…….?????
