Well, when you think of ‘chamber of commerce’ – in generic form – you tend to think of an association of a community’s businesses. This perhaps almost always skews itself to being a bit more conservative than than community’s populace – but not necessarily in Thatcheristic proportions.
But you certainly don’t think of economic treason – you know, purposely sabotaging the economic body of America to enrich entities that are able to pretend to be American corporations on American TV but, in reality, are to our nation’s economy what pancreatic cancer is to a human body. Local chambers of commerce tend to actually want job growth in their area (even if they also tend to think that the businesses are far more deserving of tax breaks than they are.)
And yet, the U.S .Chamber of Commerce doesn’t actually care about whether or not Americans have jobs; in fact, it seems to prefer Americans to not have jobs. In short, it is what it is: economic cancer for every organ of the American national body.
Its mouthpieces go on news/talk shows lambasting Democratic elected officials, claiming that said officials are job-killers – and it runs anonymously funded political attack ads with the same message. Yet, its actual organizational purpose is to ship as many American jobs overseas as possible to maximize the personal wealth of a small cadre of billionaires. (And yes, I’m sure that they are able to find mouthpieces who will go on Fox ‘News’ and, with a straight face claim that the latter is not literally job-killing, which ofcourse ‘means’ that they’re actually as pro-America as their deceptive name and advertising cons people into believing.)
And the head of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce? He’s Tom Donahue.
Well, irrespective of what you think he loooks like, he’s a traitor – an economic treason-monger of the highest degree.
And he’s not just a traitor and a liar; he’s also a hypocrite:
Everyone’s favorite foreign-corporation-funded special-interest group, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, has a guy at the helm named Tom Donahue.
I used to think that Tom hated lawsuits. After all, his group spends millions of dollars every year to persuade the public that we need to pass tort “reform” because there are too many lawsuits. But as it turns out, Tom’s a big fan of lawsuits:
“Litigation is one of our most powerful tools for making sure that federal agencies follow the law and are held accountable,” Donohue said in remarks prepared to be delivered in Des Moines, Iowa.
So why is it that when people use litigations to make sure that Chamber members “follow the law and are held accountable,” Tom says we need to change the law?
Probably because Tom is a hypocrite. And his Chamber of Commerce is also a serial plaintiff. You see, Tom also bragged that the Chamber has sued the EPA “six times” this year. What would Tom say about someone who bragged about suing Wyeth six times in a single year?
Could be worse, I guess. It could be headed by Bill Donohue.
