No Excuses, No Timetable – And, For Damn Sure, No GENDA

Yesterday I asked of Rebecca Juro:

In All Seriousness Becky, Why Did You Think For One Second It Would Be Any Different?

That was in referece to her journey to the circle jerk for the obscenely rich, out of touch gay oppressor class of New York (billed in some circles as NYC’s HRC gala.)

Now, here is the Gay City News feature item on the event:

Alphonso David, the deputy secretary for civil rights to Governor Andrew Cuomo, reminded the crowd at the February 5 Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Manhattan gala of his boss’ commitment to sign a marriage equality law in 2011, as well as to pursue other LGBT community goals including the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA).

GENDA in the first paragraph?

Good.

GENDA nowhere else in the 908 word piece?

Well…

Brian Ellner, the chief strategist in HRC’s New York marriage effort, said, “I pledge to you, we are going to win. We have a great campaign to change hearts and minds.”

Does HRC have a New York GENDA “effort”?  With or without a “chief strategist”?

Joe Solmonese, the president of the Washington-based LGBT lobby group –– introduced to the crowd of roughly 900 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel dinner by champion figure skater Johnny Weir –– said, “I feel very good about the possibility of winning marriage equality in New York.”

Yeh, well, that pretty much answers that.

GENDA once – with no elaboration.

Marriage twelve times – and sucking up all the oxygen.

But alas, there was an ever-so-relevant additional reference to trans….

something or another:

The cast of the new Broadway adaptation of “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” performed.

Where have you gone, General Zod?

Gay greedmeisters need your discipline.

Hey, hey, hey…
