One Half of Gay Maryland’s Latest Rape of Trans People is Complete

The pro-transphobe, pro-‘not my shower,’ pro-Morgan-Meneses-Pinochet’s-future-gig-with-HRC HB 235 has passed in the Maryland House of Delegates, apparently by an 86-52 margin.

One person on Facebook noticed something that transpired during the floor debate.  Its not an exact quote, but I suspect that it is substantively accurate:

Del. Pena-Melnyk mentions the huge compromise that was made by taking public accommodations out and that it was a sacrifice.

New rule [EDITED, 3/27/2011, 8:51 PM CDT, to pacify someone who holds herself out to be educated but apparently can’t recognize a reference to the closing segment on Real Time with Bill Maher] Suggestion for a new law: Calling something that in no way negatively affects you but does harm the very people who you are portraying yourself as being a champion of a ‘sacrifice’ is from this point forward a first-degree felony, common-law prosecutable by anyone who actually is on the short end of the purported ‘sacrifice.’

Is that a threat, Katrina? You blog from the safety of your far out-of-state perch, insulting and threatening people with whom you disagree. It’s unacceptable. I disagree with much of what goes on in this world, as well as here in Maryland, but I don’t stoop to these kinds of vicious attacks which you’ve been mounting for years.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

    • Katrina Rose says:

Only a moron would consider it to be a threat.

Its a suggestion for a new law.

    • Katrina Rose says:

BTW – the disdain you’ve shown for history is far more disturbing than anything that anyone on either side of this has said.

How about asking ‘Equality’ Maryland’s ghostwriter-legal-(alleged)-expert about common law (a/k/a private) prosecutions?

On the other hand, if you actually want to know, I’d ask someone else; ‘Equality’ Maryland’s ghostwriter-legal-(alleged)-expert would probably tell you its the same thing as a common law marriage that takes place at a homeless shelter (or maybe even gender stereotyping.)

  2. Cathy Brennan says:

I find it endlessly amusing that you call yourself a legal historian with little regard for facts, law or history. Sad bullying narcissist.

    • Katrina Rose says:

As usual, the bugbrennan is infected with the ad hominem flu to the core – which leaves said bugbrennan unable (and/or unwilling) to address any criticism made of/to it.

Gay-led transphobia has many defenders (even a few kool-aid-addled trans ones), but no defense – as your empty comments prove and your laughably irrelevant legal citations exemplify.

      • Cathy Brennan says:

This actually made me laugh out loud. Do you not even read the shit that you write?

      • Katrina Rose says:

        I read your shit.

What you should be worried about is that other people do as well – and that all of the primary sources are out there on the net to demonstrate that if shit was coke, you’d be Tony Montana.

  3. Dana Beyer says:

I am just so sorry I didn’t pick up an allusion to Bill Maher, who, if I remember correctly, has not been the best friend to trans people himself.

  5. Dana, I guess that not even getting tossed off HRC’s board of Governors has taught you a lesson. Did you land on your head?
