Clarke Institute Blend?

From a comment to a post about Bam Bam Barber having a hissy fit over a trans child not being forced into a life of christianist self-hatred:

I am very interested in this issue, both as a former child who strongly identified as a boy when I was young, and as a parent of a 3-year-old who insists they are the opposite sex.

Query if you or any other Blenders are at all concerned at the potential of this diagnosis to be used as an “end run” of sorts around homosexuality.  So, for example, instead of being gay, a child could be steered into a trans diagnosis. (I am not suggesting that is the case in this instance).

This is a sincere question, and one I haven’t seen honestly addressed (because of the sensitivity of this, but I honestly don’t think we can make progress without addressing these questions).

Gays and lesbians in particular have very good reason to be skeptical of medical diagnoses that touch on our sexuality (hello, reparative therapy!).

Insert Bill Hicks bit from Rant in E Minor here about kids being adopted by christian parents – only substitute the phrase “transphobic lesbian” for the word “christian.”

  1. I'm sure no one likes you says:

Donald Trump – “I’m just asking questions”

  2. Cathy Brennan says:

Kat – watch out – your homophobia and hatred of women is showing to the two people who read your blog.

    • Katrina Rose says:

      homophobia

      and

      hatred of women

What drug do you take that causes you continually to use terms in ways that conclusively demonstrate that you are completely unaware of their actual meanings?

  3. The question raised in your post is very serious and one that will not be shut down with fallacious analogies to conservative christian ideologies.

Transgressing gender norms has NOTHING to do with biological sex. We should be encouraging children to express themselves in any way they feel comfortable, NOT forcing their physical bodies into oppressive hetero-normative representations of “men” and “women.” Why is this so difficult for trans-activists to grasp?

…one that will not be shut down with fallacious analogies to conservative christian ideologies.

But, of course, it will – and continually and conclusively is – shut down by valid analogies to conservative christian ideologies, such as the one in this post.

  4. Why don’t you ANSWER the questions? I see zero analysis here. It’s intellectually lazy.

      This is a blog, not a university…

You (or was it your other hand?) liked that the other day. I figure it was worth turning around on you.

If you’re looking for me to take orders from exterminatrixes, don’t hold your breath.

      Get thee to a Raymondery.

  5. I have no idea what you are talking about. I assume you cannot answer the questions.

It’s amazing that this idiot wants to speak for us & no so very little about us. She quotes a guy who says he wants to treat trans kids so they won’t be trans and could learn to be gay as we’re bad outcomes …..,as an example of medicos trying to turn gay kids into straight trans people.

    What an idiot.
