Rick Perry Proves He is Legally Unqualified to Hold Any Public Office

From the christianism conclave at 1/8 full Reliant Stadium:

Hmmmm….

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land….

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution….

Article VI scoreboard, dude.

Oh, and as an added bonus….

From the stage of an almost exclusively white gathering, eh…

Nah, that would be too easy.

Still, go talk amongst yah-selves.

  1. That’s what he’s hoping his followers will hear: “Your narrow reading of the bible trumps accepted legal theory of the constitution, and maybe even your fantastical ‘reading’ of the constitution.”

The worry there is not that he will actively set out to subvert the constitution, but that he is making it more difficult to uphold it…

Oh yeah, and he’s an incompetent hot-lining, queer-bashing, racist-supporter-drawing, intangible, disaster of a governor who has ensured that political positions are more important than FACTS in ensuring what children in his state are taught, so I was already pretty goddessdamn afraid of this yahoo.

  2. Kathleen says:

I assume all treaties being the law of the land included the Treaty of Tripoli.

Hey – he’s still got my vote for Pres of the North Mexico when he succeeds.

    • Kathleen says:

The relevant section – ratified unanimously by the Senate – many of whom were Founding Fathers. Printed in newspapers accross the country without any complaint or incident and of course signed by the President. John Adams, I believe. Who knew a few things about the subject of the Constitution – or any of the founding documents.

      • Kathleen says:

        ARTICLE 11.

As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

  3. Hmm have to check the attendance on Rick’s Hate Rally…and hope they disinfect Reliant Stadium before next week’s Texans preseason game
