A spokesman for the Dallas schools says only the boys were taken because space in the theater was limited.
The non-joke preceding it?
A field trip for 5,700 fifth-grade boys in Dallas to see a movie about black fighter pilots in World War II has some questioning why the girls weren’t included.
The boys were taken Thursday to see “Red Tails,” a new movie about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first black pilots to serve in the U.S. military. The girls stayed in classroom and watched “Akeelah and the Bee” about an 11-year-old girl who competed in a national spelling bee.
Well, all I have to say is…
I got nothin’.
Of course, maybe the girls should be glad the Texas Republican primary isn’t any closer. If it was, then perhaps, as a campaign stunt, Newt Gingrich would have persuaded the school district to have them all do janitorial work while the boys were watching the movie.
