Yes, Whitney Houston had a good voice.
The stuff that she sang with it stands as a collective poster child for the substanceless, decalcified corporatist music industry that Bill Hicks hurled the “Reagan-era wet dream” epithet at.
Key to that epithet, however – and the entire bit that contained it: He was praising Jimi Hendrix and lamenting that he had no power to do anything about Kenny Rogers, Rick Astley, George Michael, Debbie Gibson and Tiffany.
In short, the garbage that those last five cranked out would still be garbage, irrespective of the color of their skin.
And Hendrix would be Hendrix if he was white, green or invisible.
But, alas, up to the plate step the tentacles of the legion of commenters at Fox ‘News’ – as reported by Little Green Footballs:
There’s a real sickness running rampant in the right wing; the Fox News comment thread on Whitney Houston’s death is yet another disgusting deluge of outright racism: Singer Whitney Houston Dies at 48 | Fox News.
There are almost 5000 comments posted in the thread — these are from the first few pages. Notice that the racist bastards deliberately misspell their slurs or insert random spaces, so they aren’t caught by word filters. And many of the worst comments have numerous “likes” from other commenters.
A tragedy is when someones passes away from a terminal disease or something else that no one saw coming.Whitney is just an inferior lo w life ni gg er that needed to go,no tragedy,no loss.
This is typical of the blk gene pool; it happens all the time. They cannot handle fame and fortune whether it’s derived from music, acting, sports or just plain entertainment
It is Black History Month, so its fortunate that that last commenter is providing me with such a bounty of information of which I was previously unaware: Hank Williams, Sr., Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Keith Moon, John Bohnam, Elvis Presley, Sid Vicious, Kurt Cobain, John Entwistle, Fatty Arbuckle, James Dean, River Phoenix, Brittany Murphy, John Matuszak and Lyle Alzado were all black!
Like most of her species, she suffered from chronic stupidity.
Considering that everyone of those commenters was once a child, I wonder if what actually happened on Saturday night was that Whitney Houston simply finally stopped believing that children are our future.
