Gratuitous Pat Robertson-esque Analysis (Or: For Those Who Don’t Like Sport, We Have Sport)

October 16, 2007

From the Denver Post:

Rockies first baseman Todd Helton celebrates the Game 4 win in the National League Championship Series at Coors Field on Monday night. “ROCKIES WIN THE PENNANT – NL champion Colorado, on 21-1 roll, dashes toward first Series”

So, what does this have to do with ENDA?

Well…

Earlier this year, Colorado enacted a trans-inclusive civil rights law. Now: Its heretofore-joke-of-a-baseball-team makes it to the World Series.

2005: Washington enacts a trans-inclusive civil rights law; the Seattle Seahawks make it to the Super Bowl for the first time (they don’t do so well there, but follow me on this)

2005: Illinois passes a trans-inclusive civil rights law (which takes effect in Jan. 2006); the Chicago White Sox win the World Series for the first time in my lifetime (beating the team from the purported home state of the sitting Bigoted-Nutcase-in-Chief)

Now, if I was Crazy Uncle Chuckles, I would neglect to mention that Iowa enacted a trans-inclusive civil rights law this year – and the Iowa Hawkeyes aren’t doing all that well (though they did beat Illinois last weekend.) Hurricanes, shmurricanes. Baaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

Still – I’m just sayin’…..
