From Michigan Radio:
Rick Pluta just called in to say that Michigan State Representative Paul Scott (R-Grand Blanc) has been recalled. Scott conceded defeat saying his campaign did their best, they came up short, and that he will not rule out running again in the future.
Scott is the first sitting state lawmaker [in Michigan] to be recalled since 1983.
Something tells me he’ll be the first of several.
Rep. Paul Scott said final vote counts showed him losing by 232 votes, despite the delay in getting precinct reports up on the Genesee County elections website.
I accept the results,” Scott said to a somber crowd of supporters at his Grand Blanc headquarters.
Scott said he will spend the coming weeks and months making a decision about whether he will run again in 2012
Despite months of fighting to avoid today’s recall vote, Scott said he’s done challenging the recall.
“The community’s just been through too much. … It’s time to move on.”
Despite the snarkiness of this post’s title, we all know that, unlike the legitimate, productive people in Michigan who he mal-represented for 3 years, he has something to move on to. The only question now is whether he’ll become a Fox ‘News’ talking head before Xmas or afterward.
wouldn’t doubt his boy Rick Snyder will set him up with some nice job.
Koch-sucking Rick will probably put him in charge of the driver’s license bureau – where he can impede trans people’s ability to secure post-transition ID (not to mention everyone else’s ability to secure IDs that will meet the teabagger party’s anti-voter requirements.).
Of course, if the head of the state’s department of education is an appointed position, Rick will probably try to slide the turd in there.
Shhh…don’t give Ricky boy any ideas. Have him send Paul to some conservafool think tank
[…] As y’all know, I can’t stand that transphobic, teacher hating, cookie chomping conservanegro Michigan state Rep.Paul Scott who represents the 51st House district. Neither can other transpeeps inside and outside the state of Michigan. […]
