The Real Enemy

From Queer Channel Media -in 2009:

Final legislative efforts to ban employment and housing discrimination against transgender people in Maryland are faltering in the session’s final days.

Frosh said despite years of lobbying and educational efforts from LGBT activists, the measure remains “a contentious issue.”

Compare with Queer Channel Media – circa Jan. 5, 2001 (sorry – no link), and a letter to the editor from Cathy Brennan:

Gay people in 19 Maryland counties crently lack protection based on sexual orientation; transgendered people in all 24 counties can currenty try to file a complaint based on gender/sex.

Any one person or organization who attempts to kill Maryland’s Anti-Discrimination Act over this issue does a grave disservice….

The author of this ‘let them eat gender/sex’ edict, one Cathy Brennan, went on to declare that the “real enemies of protection from discrimination” were the Senate president and the Archdiocese.

Sorry, Cathy.

We knew who the real enemy was eight years ago – and time has proven our knowledge to be true.
